CMM WEST

CMM WEST

CMM WEST is an org. that I have been involved in for a little over 2 yrs. now. This a a children's medical missions that was started out of a ladies home in Waynesfield Ohio. To date we have helped 6 kids in this short 2 yrs that we have been doing this. With number 7 ( Picture at top) yet to come in a few weeks.

It is amazing to see how happy these children are, we think that "Oh poor them they have THIS thing wrong with them and they come from a poor country." Yet they seem so happy and greatful. Think about it... our kids complain because the electric goes out and they can't watch T.V or play their computer games. They complain about not liking what we may be having for supper that night, or take for granted that we have food available 24/7. They get up set if we tell them it's a nice day why don't you go out and play or ride your bikes.

For one day we all should walk every were we go, eat only a handful of rice or worse maybe have nothing. Or maybe go without electricity or running water. Maybe we would all be a little more greatful for the small things we do have. We have our health, families that love us, homes that keep us dry, warm and safe. Yet we do not seem to be as happy as these people we think are so poor. Why Is That???

WORD OF THE DAY

WORD OF THE DAY

QUIDNUNC: A Person who always wants to know what is going on

We all know someone like this. It may be a neighbor, a friend, or even a family member. These people Drive Us Nuts.... always asking what is going on, what that person who texted or called wants, who that was that was at your house. They may even be the type that listens in to your conversation with someone else and tell others what is going on for you. Yet some of us will not say anything to these people at the risk of hurt someones feelings. BUT... if they push you to far; it's time to put them in their place!!!

WORD OF THE DAY

Word Of The Day: LIVID

Definition: Extremely angry; furious.

Yep this is how I am feeling, let me elaborate.... I have been very depressed sense being laid off from work. Bills for the first time are being paid late, I'm worried each day HOW things are going to get paid on what little my husband makes. So I am job seeking and right now Subbing at our local school as a Teacher's Aid ( Now Called Para- Educators). All this stress is taking a tole on my Test at school and my life at home. My husband, being like most MALES... wants to touch and cuddle and do other things married folks are suppose to do. Yet with this over whelming feeling like I'm the one causing this now dispare in the house, well I'm just not up to any of that. I DO NOT WANT TO BE TOUCHED AT ALL!!!!! So now He is pissy with me, and saying things like " Not sure why you don't want ME to touch you!!!" " What's wrong with you??? Why are you acting like this??" Like I have someone else touching me... HA!!! Or I have a problem with just him. Let's see when would I have time?! Between school, subbing, applying for jobs, cooking, studying, helping the kids with their homework.... yeah I am SOOO wanting another man. Hell I don't want the one I have right now do to the fact that he is acting the way he is. Are ALL men like this??? Think that everything can be made OK by their Lovin?! I DON"T THINK SO...
To any men that may read this... just know that by acting and saying things like this is just going to piss your woman off more. So if you get into this situation... give her time and space and be there for her if she feels like talking about it, do not be an ass about it and make them feel like they are doing something wrong or wose make them feel like something is wrong with them because they are feeling this way.

WORD OF THE DAY

Defined as “An enjoyable disorder characterized by feelings of excitement, anticipation, high hopes, recent memories of interludes, giddiness, and physical overstimulation which occur simultaneously when experiencing a new love.”

You may know it best from the original Bambi of 1942, in which Friend Owl says, “Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime.”
So let that special someone know that you are Twitterpated for them :)

WORD OF THE DAY

WORD OF THE DAY:
Nincompoop:
A foolish or stupid acting person.

We all have heard this word, used this word or know someone who IS this word. Yet this is one of the funniest sounding words we still use today. Yet do people really know what it stands for...
How did such a word come to be used by so many people? It was said it was Latin for non compos, or non compos mentis, not mentally competent. So if Freud's Theory of the Human is true and we are all MENTAL is some way... are we all Nincompoop's? The only good thing about Theories...Is that there is always a way to prove them wrong... or can we????

WORD OF THE DAY:
Hullabaloo

A great noise or commotion

This is a fun word to use in conversation, and it's perfect if you need an unusual synonym for "noise" or "commotion." It's just obscure enough that it doesn't get overused, but it's not so obscure that most people won't recognize it and chuckle to themselves. So the next time your kids are being noisy you can ask them " What is all that HULLABALOO about?" and watch how they react.

SILENT SUNDAYS

WORD OF THE DAY
Behoove:
To be necessary or proper for

Our teachers at school use this word ALL the time. " It may behoove you to know this for the test." It is such an annoying word to us that I had to use it today. LOL!!! We thought at first this was a made up word by one of the really weird teachers... but NO it really is a word. So keeping with the theme of finding old fashioned words that are still used today... it may behoove you to brush up on old English. You never know what word I may come up with next.

IN HONOR OF MY FATHER March 4, 1937- Sept. 12,2006

Word of the Day --"Legacy"

Definition--something handed on or left unfinished by those who came before, or money or property handed down by will.

What is your legacy? What will you leave for those who come after you? These are questions most of us ponder at some point in life. Whether we choose to define it as the money we accumulate or the deeds we do or the people we influence, it is rather tied with how we view the meaning of life. In life, there is a similar triangle--astound, serve, and provoke. Is your goal in life to perform great deeds like Mother Teresa, or to be provocative like Howard Stern? Undoubtedly, we all desire some element of each in different proportions, and most favor one over the others. That makeup defines the nature of our legacy and what we strive to accomplish in our lives.

My 1st Blog

9/11/08
WORD OF THE DAY: HOMAGE hom·age

Special honor or respect shown or expressed publicly. See honor

On this day of remembrance we all need to show our respect for those who give their lives everyday for our Freedom. There are many people out that have little respect for anything these days. But one thing EVERYONE agrees on s that on 9/11 something changed the way Americans felt. People for the most part DO watch out for their neighbors more now than before. They are MORE likely to lend a Helping Hand to those in need. Most of all... One day a year EVERYONE shows respect to those lost and those giving their lives to make and KEEP us safe.
May God keep his hand on our troops and protect them until their safe return to US soil.

I was surprised when speaking with my sister S today that she; who is older than me; did not know this word. So in HONOR of my sister... I have come up with this section for WORD OF THE DAY.
